I’ve been loving making these little pebble vases lately! They are so much fun to throw, plus I think they are just so cute!
I only intended on glazing the interior of them, but when I was pouring the glaze out of the little spouts the glaze dripped and gargled, creating the organic glaze design! I love the look and feel of the raw clay in contrast with the silky glazed bits!

Throwing some larger mugs! Feels so good to be throwing again! This is my favourite part of pottery, having a day to myself in my studio for some throwing.✨

I need to be in the right headspace for throwing, if my mind is not calm and focused, everything breaks. So when I’m feeling good, my pottery reflects that, just as it does when I’m feeling a little off.

It makes sense, as wheel throwing is a complete reflection of the potter, each small movement is translated through the clay. So many factors need to be aligned for things to work smoothly on the wheel, from my finger placement, to the steadiness and consistency of my hands movements.
I guess this is what makes it so special when it all works perfectly! 🌀✨

My new makers mark came out beautifully on some of the new pieces!
It took so long to hand carve the stamp of my makers mark, but I think it is so worth it!
I love the fact that my hands have created every part of my pieces, from throwing the form on the wheel, trimming each piece and neatening it up, to stamping it with my hand carved stamp, loading and unloading the kiln, hand painting the glaze onto each piece and hoping it comes out of the final firing the way I have envisioned! It is a long process with so much work, but I love every part of it! ✨🏺✨

Inspired by all things natural and ,more specifically, coastal! Growing up in Chapmans Peak has always given me a huge appreciation for our beautiful mountains and coastlines!
